About Us

Litchfield County Auctions is Connecticut's premiere estate Auction House, featuring paintings, prints, sculpture, antique furniture, silver, rugs, jewelry, pottery, porcelain, glass and more. LCA's 10,000 square foot gallery is located on the main road, just a mile south of "The Green" in historic Litchfield, nestled in the beautiful hills of Litchfield County. Major sales are held 6 times per year bringing fresh-to-the-market poperty from Estates and Collections in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Massachusettes.

Growing out of Weston Thorn's succesful antiques business that began nearly 30 years ago, LCA held its first auction in 1994. Year by year, sales have grown from that first auction of just over one hundred thousand dollars to a ten-year anniversary sale that grossed nearly a million dollars. In the summer of 2004, LCA sold a painting by Fairfield Porter for $94,000, and followed that up, less than a year later, with the sale of a painting by Zao Wou-ki for $253,000.
