| Payment and Shipping Information Payment Information:
Payment: For all auction items, payment is due within 2 weeks of the auction's close. Invoices will be emailed within 48 hours of the auction and will include the Buyer’s Premium of 20%, but not include other fees such as shipping or delivery.
Methods: Acceptable methods of payment include: Cash, Good Check, Money Order/Bank Check, Wire-Transfer, PayPal, Visa, Mastercard or American Express. Credit card and Paypal payments will be accepted for payments of $5000 and under. Any balance or purchase above the $5000 limit must be paid by an alternative method. No merchandise will be released until payment in full has been received.
Checks: Merchandise paid for by personal or business check will be held for a period of approximately 14 business days. LCA also reserves the right to process checks through an automated clearing house (ACH). There is a $25 fee for any returned checks.
Sales Tax: Any item that is picked up at our location or shipped to an address in Connecticut is subject to 6% CT Sales Tax. If you have a resale number, we can provide you with a resale certificate that can be completed for tax exemption.
Pick Up: We will be available for pick up Monday through Friday from 10-5 each day, and the first Saturday following the auction, from 10-1. Otherwise, we are not open on weekends. If you cannot pick up during that time, please contact us to make an appointment for pick up.
Storage Fees: Items that have not been picked up or had specific pick up arrangements made within three weeks of the auction will be subject to a $5 per lot/per day storage fee.
Shipping Information:
Quotes: Shipping quotes can be provided throughout the auction. You may contact us with the item number(s) and shipping location for a quote.
Packing Fees: For small items that need to be shipped, our standard packing fee is $30 for the first lot, and $15 for each additional lot purchased. This fee applies to lots that will be packed in-house and shipped through general carriers only (USPS, UPS, DHL, FedEx, etc.). For large lots of small items, furniture and oversized pieces please see the Shipping & Delivery Categories that follow, or call us to discuss possible options.
Shipping: Shipping quotes will be provided after all lots in the auction close. You can email us to get a shipping quote upon the close of the sale; otherwise, shipping quotes will be processed in the days following the auction. Once payment has been completed, merchandise is released for shipment. We begin in-house packing and shipping almost immediately upon the close of the sale. Almost all items are packed and shipped from our facility. Large or delicate items might be referred to a third party packing/shipping depot, at our discretion.
Delivery: Large items cannot be shipped through general carriers. We have several delivery companies that we work with for shipping oversized items and furniture. Please contact us for a quote and we will help make shipping arrangements for you. If you have a delivery company you already work with, we are happy to make pick up arrangements with them.
International Shipping: International shipping is available to all countries. Please inquire with specifics upon the close of the auction to make arrangements.
Framed Artwork: Paintings will be shipped as shown, including frames. We will remove the glass on any prints or artwork that has glass in the frame unless otherwise specified from the buyer. Removing glass for shipping prevents damage to the artwork from breakage of the glass during shipment.
Returns: A bid is a binding contract. Upon execution of a bid, you, the buyer, have entered into a binding contract, both with iGavel.com and Litchfield County Auctions, Inc. Returns will not be accepted unless it is a direct fault of LCA, Inc., miscataloging or misstatement of condition. Returns will not be accepted if you no longer want the item, or if ‘it will not fit’. Please take this into consideration before placing a bid.
Insurance: Available at 2% of the merchandise total.

These two life-sized terracotta lions each weighed about 450 lbs; they were
sold to a buyer in Texas for $10,530 (having bought-in at a major NYC
auction house for much less). Although we were originally quoted as much
as $3,400, we eventually found a carrier to crate and ship them to the
buyer for about $1,000.
