Weston Thorn became involved in the antiques and fine art business in the mid-1960’s while pursuing a degree in Art History at Columbia University and working at a New York City art gallery which specialized in old master drawings, paintings and sculpture. Following graduation from Columbia, he joined Sotheby Parke Bernet, where he was an appraiser, auctioneer and, ultimately, Director of Sotheby’s PB-84. In 1975, Mr. Thorn began his own antiques and appraisal business in New York City and in 1982 opened “Weston Thorn Antiques” in Northwestern Connecticut. In 1994 Mr. Thorn founded Litchfield County Auctions, Inc. and began holding auctions in Litchfield, CT. He is a one-time president of the Appraiser’s Association of America and has been a member for over 30 years. Combining 50 years of experience as a seasoned auctioneer, a widely respected expert and a successful antiques dealer, Mr. Thorn brings a multi-faceted understanding of the art and antiques business to Litchfield County Auctions.
